Gum Springs Elementary boasts a 17:1 student-to-teacher ratio and solid test scores – well above the state average. West Jackson Middle also achieves high marks for its 16:1 student-teacher ratio and test scores – particularly where Physical Science and Algebra I are concerned. Jackson County High School – the home of the Panthers – unveiled a shiny new 250,000-square-foot $69 million facility during the 2021-2022 school year. It received the College Success Award from GreatSchools.org that same year and boasts above-average rankings for test scores and college readiness, with a graduation rate of 93%.
Traditions of Braselton families can also opt to send their children to the award-winning Jefferson City Schools. Jefferson Academy, Jefferson Middle, and Jefferson High Schools all achieve high marks from GreatSchools.org for Academic Progress and Test Scores, with Jefferson High achieving a 9 out of 10 score overall and an excellent 97% graduation rate. The elementary and middle schools are close behind with matching 8 out of 10 overall scores. The District as a whole achieves a 100% school quality score from GreatSchools.org, placing it 74% above the state average. It scores the same for academic progress, 68% above the state average. With a mission to “graduate fully functioning adults,” Jefferson City Schools emphasize STEAM education – culling lessons gleaned from science, technology, engineering, art, and math to educate the next generation of students, which also happens to be the workforce of the future. To that end, the system emphasizes to its students that learning will be a lifelong process. If accepted to the system, out-of-district admittance is tuition-based.
