While it’s an exciting thing to launch a search for the “home sweet home” of your dreams, there’s a lot more to consider than the number of bedrooms and bathrooms. To enhance both your homebuying journey and your lifestyle after you’ve moved in, you’ll want to make the community where that dream home is based a significant part of your considerations. But how do you know if a community is the right fit for you and your family? From our perch at the Discovery Center of one of the most exciting master-planned communities in Northeast Georgia – Traditions of Braselton – we recommend the following five factors to help determine whether a community is the ideal destination for your new home…
Array of Amenities
If you and your family members enjoy an active lifestyle – or hope to pursue one in your next home – access to amenities is an important factor in finding the right community for you. More and more builders are eliminating or minimizing amenities from their communities to lower development costs. That may not be a deal breaker for you if there is a great country club, aquatic center, park, or gym nearby. At lifestyle-centric Traditions of Braselton, we offer all of that and MORE. Our amenities include an Owner’s Clubhouse with a 24-hour fitness center and active HOA to plan events, a Junior Olympic-sized pool with splash zone and water slide, a tennis and pickleball facility, a playground, and walking trails. At the edge of our community is Traditions Golf & Country Club, which boasts a beautifully maintained 18-hole golf course and clubhouse with a highly lauded restaurant and rooftop bar. Just beyond our borders are several terrific parks, including Gum Springs Park, Sell’s Mill Park, and West Jackson Park, among others.
Quality of Builders
Whether the community is developed by one builder or the developer has assembled a number of builders, you’ll want to do your research. You can conduct some of that research online – both on the community website and on a variety of other sites that include reviews, Better Business Bureau filings, and more. You’ll also want to do your research up close and in person – from touring available homes by that builder(s) to actually meeting the builder or his/her representatives face-to-face. At Traditions of Braselton, we’ve done much of that research for you – presenting a carefully curated list of high-quality custom and production builders from which to choose. If Traditions of Braselton is included on your list of possible communities, pop by the Discovery Center and tell us your story. We’ll be happy to point you in the right direction with regard to builders who we believe will prove an ideal fit for your vision.
Excellence of Local Schools
If you’re a parent to school-aged children – or you hope to start your family shortly following move-in – it’s likely that the quality of local schools is a major determining factor for you. School Digger, Niche Rankings, and Great Schools are all fantastic resources for researching the elementary, middle, and high schools that serve any given community. At Traditions of Braselton, we’re exceedingly proud of not only the quality of our local schools, but also our homeowners access to two different school systems. Our community is districted to Jackson County Schools, including Gum Springs Elementary, West Jackson Middle, and Jackson County Comprehensive High Schools. However, parents can also consider applying for out-of-district admittance to award-winning, tuition-based Jefferson City Schools. For those parents who prefer a private school education for their children, Braselton Christian Academy, Jackson Trail Christian School, Four Points Preparatory Academy, and Westbrook Academy Preparatory School are all located within six miles of the community.
Appeal of the Surrounding Area
Just as you should expand your scope beyond the four walls of your potential new home to consider the community that surrounds it, you should do the same to consider the towns that encompass that community. If you love great food, how are the restaurants nearby? If you love to cook, you may crave easy access to grocery and gourmet stores. Do you include “fashionista” among your many attributes? If so, you’ll want to know where the closest outlets, boutiques, and shopping centers are located. Traditions of Braselton is truly blessed by our positioning near the charming municipalities of Braselton, Jefferson, Hoschton, Buford, and Athens. We’re also within 20 miles of Lake Lanier if fishing or boating are among your favorite pursuits. We invite you to come explore our 1140-acre community, and we’ll point you in the right direction to the best restaurants, shops, pubs, entertainment, and more nearby.
Access to Travel Corridors
From ease of commute to work to convenience to dynamic destinations like the City of Atlanta to the south and the mountains to the North, it’s vital to most homeowners to be near major travel corridors. You might want to make a practice run from a community you’re considering to your workplace during a weekday to get a read on future commute times. At Traditions of Braselton, we’re ideally poised six miles from the on-ramp to I-85. Highways 53 and 124 also serve as well-traveled commuting routes.
We are honored that Traditions of Braselton is on your list of potential new communities.
