Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer at Center for Puppetry Arts
Open now through December 30 (with the exception of Mondays and Christmas Day when the Center is closed), this puppet show is perfect for parents and pint-sized family members. Based on the classic television special by Rankin-Bass, the show follows the adventures of Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer, Hermey the Elf, Yukon Cornelius and more. Tickets to the show include access to the Worlds of Puppetry Museum and Create-A-Puppet Workshop.
Atlanta Ballet Presents The Nutcracker at the Fox Theatre
Onstage at the fabulous Fox Theatre, this year’s production represents the Atlanta Ballet’s first NEW presentation of E.T.A Hoffman’s classic tale of a young girl, a nutcracker that comes to life and a mouse king set to the music of Tchaikovsky. The Atlanta Ballet invites you to be among the first to experience the magic of The Nutcracker for the next generation. Shows open December 8-24, 2018.
Garden Lights, Holiday Nights at Atlanta Botanical Garden
On display now through January 6, 2019, Atlanta Botanical Garden is all aglow when the sun goes down in this beloved holiday tradition. Take a walking tour of millions of twinkling LED lights and dozens of holiday-themed displays including Nature’s Wonders, the Ice Goddess, Tunnel of Light, Walk of Flames, Glittering Galaxy, Twinkling Terrace, Orchestral Orbs and more. Festival of the SEAson at Georgia Aquarium
The famed Georgia Aquarium is transformed into a Winter Wonderland through December 31st. During weekends, guests can enjoy A Symphony of Snow – featuring the performance of timeless Christmas Carols culminating in an appearance by Santa Claus. There are also regular showings of The Polar Express – 4D Experience, daily tree lightings and surprise appearances by “Scuba Claus.”
Ride Macy’s Pink Pig at Lenox Square
For one of the most authentically Atlanta holiday experiences, you’ll want to make the trek down to Lenox Square to ride Macy’s Pink Pig. A tradition that began in 1953, a ride aboard Priscilla the Pink Pig is a MUST for families with small children. The best part is, a portion of the ride’s proceeds will benefit Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta. The Pink Pig runs daily through January 6, 2019 (with the exception of Christmas Day.)
